Buhle is from Radebe, Katlehong, in South Africa. In 1996 he moved to Rhema Paradise, a home for street children. A year later, when given a choice of activities, he chose the Little Artists School. Uncertain of his commitment, was in and out of class, but in 1999 he sold his first painting.
In 2009 Buhle graduated from New Nation Highschool, and started to spend a lot of time at the Little Artists School whilst also doing extra schooling to improve his matric results. In 2013 he enrolled with Artist Proof Studio – a school that specialises in print-making – with the aim of learning different art techniques.
“Through my artwork I offer a glimpse into Johannesburg’s vibrant lifestyle,” he says. “My pieces capture the essence of ordinary individuals navigating the cityscape in the pursuit of a better life.” He currently works as a volunteer at the Little Artists School, helping kids achieve a better life.
