A full-time artist from Ga-Modjadji, Limpopo in South Africa, Edward started showing artistic talent at a young age. His teachers and mother marvelled when he put pen to paper, his handwriting was described as perfect, he hand-painted Roman numeral signs and drew incredible cartoons. He recalls his mother complaining that he used all the candles in order to draw into the early hours of the morning. Whilst still young, he had to leave his family for Johannesburg. Here his talents were soon recognised, and he was awarded the opportunity to attend Eastside College and UNISA.
He didn’t have transport to attend college, but with eager determination he made a plan, getting up every day before dawn. Edward’s commitment to making a positive impact manifested in the Little Artists School. This truly inspiring initiative – where he voluntarily dedicates time to teaching youth from disadvantaged backgrounds – reflects his commitment to uplifting the community. Since starting the school in an orphanage in 1995 he has impacted over 1,800 students, and continues to do so. This incredible achievement and is a testament to his greatness.
